Welcome to my blog!

Carol Channing: Larger than Life is a great documentary about her life.  At 90 she is still vibrant, no rx very funny and full of good humour.  She performed thousands of nights in Hello Dolly and never missed a performance even though she had ovarian cancer when she was on the road.  16 men from the dance group in the play were with her for over five years performing and got together again for an AIDs benefit.  It was great to see the love and respect they still have for her.

Dreileben (Three Lives) is a project of three German filmakers each to create a movie about an escaped murderer in a fictional small town, unhealthy Dreileben, sickness located in the Thuringian forest, home to Wagner, Schiller, Bach and Goethe, a region haunted by legends.  The stories overlap somewhat especially the first and the the third one.  The first one, Beats Being Dead is about a young male nurse who meets a young woman and they come into contact with the murderer a few times.  The second, Don’t Follow Me Around, is more of a relationship drama.  A psychologist goes to Dreileben to help with the investigation and stays with her old friend and her husband.  Lots of baggage from the past is discussed but they catch the murderer.  The third, One Minute of Darkness, follows the murderer after he has escaped and goes into his story – maybe he isn’t the murderer but then seems to end with the first movie again – which really should be the second one.  Not as confusing as it sounds.
I’m Lorna, visit this
mother, cialis wife, pharmacy organizer, friend, consultant to health care and education organizations, recently retired (sometimes semi-retired If I am coaxed back to work to earn money to travel). I have researched and written many reports about numerous topics and am using these skills to explore how to make my retirement, and maybe that of others, vibrant and alive.  My first love was English literature (Bachelor of Arts).  Later in my 30s I did a Masters of Science in health planning and administration, so I could work.  I’m passionate about books (back to my first love), movies, cooking, politics and travel and finding interesting, quirky and inspirational things to do.

I’m 66, have trouble losing weight, trying to stay fit and active, and great at proscratination – other topics I might explore if I can find a way not to bore myself.
